My Blog is Likely to Hit 10,000 Viewers Today!

A Great Big Thanks to all of my Viewers and Subscribers!

Ocean City 2014 50 Pic Collage
While I was away playing with our youngest grandchildren in Ocean City last week, I nearly lost track of how many of you were continuing to view this site.  Looking back on the past 18 or so months since I started posting my genealogical stories and discussions, I can’t believe that the 10,000th viewer will visit my blog today.  The shame is, I have no way of knowing or acknowledging who that person might be.  But, if you’re the one or one of the 9,999 others who has read something I’ve written here, I’d just like to say “Thank You!”–You’ve helped change my life and have given me encouragement to continue on.

And, if you’re family who waited on me when I became pre-occupied in my zealousness “to get it all out in copy,” I apologize.  Especially to my husband who wonders how I can sit for hours on end in front of a computer.  For me, it’s just visiting with new friends, old friends, and even deceased family members who I never had the chance to meet–that is until I got serious again and back into genealogical research.

And, especially to Maynard, my newly found Grand Uncle.  We didn’t know until this Christmas when he read a blog post of mine that each other existed.  He was amidst one of my brick walls that came tumbling down. I love him so for coming across country this spring so we could meet and get to know each other.  And, it was quite extraordinary to learn that we had so many characteristics, behaviors, and interests in common.

Thanks, everyone–it’s truly a great experience.  I hope you have enjoyed it as much as I and that you will continue to visit and offer your comments.

  1. Joanne,
Thanks so much for the time and energy in your blog. I really enjoy reading it. Wouldn’t it be a hoot if I was number 10,000!
And thanks for mentioning me both in today’s blog and in past ones. I appreciate it very much.
I had a wonderful time during my visit with your family. I am still awed by the experience.
And yes, I was behind a long established brick wall and what a good feeling to see those bricks come tumbling down.
Please give my regards to your parents and tell them that I will visit them again.
Your Grand Uncle (to be honest, I’m not sure I’ll ever be able to figure out that title…..),
    Maynard
PS. Christmas Day 2014 will always be memorable to me.
